Ar Foluain
Debut Collection Coming Early 2027
I am currently painting my first collection of skyscapes called Ar Foluain. Ar Foluain is the poetic Irish word for “suspended,” which more accurately means hovering, floating, or gliding in the air—like a leaf caught on a breeze or a bird momentarily still in the sky.
This upcoming body of work is devoted to the charged stillness before transformation, the world suspended for one luminous second before everything changes. These paintings gather storm light and moonlight, atmosphere, pressure, and stillness into breathless moments of impending movement.
Rooted in the sublime weather and haunting night skies of the western edge of Ireland, this collection is expected to be completed and debuted in early 2027.
Until then, I share snippets from the studio, process notes, and works in progress through my Skylight Studio newsletter.
