On September 1, 2024 I retired my personal astrology and spiritual consultations. As I’ve shared elsewhere, my work is now focused on spirit-led research and experimental practice that then are shared exclusively in my Newsletter and deep-dive Workshops. In retiring my readings, I decided to create a living resource of referrals for the community and individuals who have so generously supported my work for the last several years.

I’ve curated this list of referrals for other diviners and spiritual counselors that have outstanding ethics, well-honed technical skills, undeniable connection to spirit, and a real talent for compassionate personal counseling. I will periodically update this, as I am inspired to do so.

Astrology Referrals & Recommendations -

  • Azur - a queer dual French and English speaking astrologer, and spirit worker who has a real talent for spirit-led astrological research and personal astrology readings. Their Substack is also worth joining for the rich astrological articles that they write.

  • Third Sister (Maeg Keane)- a queer astrologer and spirit worker who does deep-dive readings on one or two fixed stars in your chart in a given session, amongst a menu of other revelatory offerings. Reading their Substack is a sublime journey of poetry and insight you don’t want to miss.

  • Diana Rose Harper - a sparkling, nurturing, and easy-to-understand astrologer whose guiding ethos is Love—and you can feel it in every one of their posts, writings, teachings, and consults. Receiving a reading from them is a treat, but learning from their teachings is a true investment in your ongoing spiritual journey. Their Patreon is one of the most nourishing offerings in the alternative spirituality space.

  • Jeanna Kadlec - a writer, podcast host, and astrologer who deeply understands the intersection of creativity and spirituality. She authored the book “Heretic”, a memoir of leaving the Evangelical church to step into their authentic queer identity. She also pens the ever handy Astrology for Writers, and hosts a nurturing discord server for writers and creatives.

  • Ishpiming Astrology (Alex Mikinaak) - combining their perspective as descendant of the Turtle Mountain Ojibwe with their combined talents as a teacher of history, deep researcher, and astrologer, Alex is an astrologer to watch. Their readings on Place-Based Relations is one of the best I’ve had in years, and their research into Sedna is intriguing. Don’t forget to check out their Substack, which has been tracking the astrology of the Orcas that live in the Sailish Sea.

  • Unlock Astrology (Sam Reynolds) - one of my first traditional astrology teachers and mentors, Sam has fostered the learning of countless students of astrology that centers not only astrological literacy but a strong ability to counsel and talk to non-astrologers about their charts. His readings are pinpoint accurate, and his teachings are some of the best you can invest in.

  • Gabriel Rosas - Gabe is the sleeper agent of the Traditional Astrology community. When I first began learning with Sam (see bullet point directly above) he told me to make friends with Gabe because he knew things that not even well-seasoned astrologers seemed to know about the history and use of astrology. We’re all lucky Gabe offers consultations and occasionally comes out of his secret lair to bless us by teaching at conferences.

  • The Ibis Nest (Whitney Hill) - Whitney’s both a teacher and a researcher in the area of ancient astrology, and she is more than generous with both her practical write-ups of transits, astrology explanations and how-tos, and her cutting edge research (both of the astrological variety and the cultural astronomy type). Reading her work is empowering and revelatory!

  • Nine of Wands (Pallas K. Augustine) - the author of the first book on the I.C., a longtime astrologer, and the creator of talismans, Pallas is a creative and compassionate tour-de-force. Co-founder of the astrological magic education and talisman container Idola Stellarum (along with their equally talented partner Rain Mason), Pallas brings an animistic, ecological, and magical perspective to their consultations, as well as their Patreon.

  • Hawkstrology - Hawk specializes especially in consultations, writings, and teachings about relationships with deities, as well as magic. They make deity relationships approachable, spirituality fun, and magic easier to start than you might think is possible. They’ve also just launched a fresh newsletter called Sundrops that is totally worth a sign up!

  • Kristin Mathis - The research and updated translations of the Orphic Hymns being done by Kristin Matthis breathe animist life back into the tradition of spiritual astrology. Many of her nuggets of insight have been a beacon when I’m in the middle of one of my own spirit-led research journeys!

Other Readers & Spiritual Practitioners -

  • 3AM Tarot (Meg Jones Wall) - author, creator of 2 podcasts, writer, and tarot reader; one of the best (and truly prolific) tarot teachers online today, Meg’s readings are incredibly insightful and something I have returned to again and again as the year unfolds. Subscribe to their newsletter, join one their many beautiful seasonal containers for learning and reflection, or go listen to one of their 2 podcasts.

  • SaturnVox - McCalla is the effervescent spirit worker responsible for one of the best occult podcasts online—SaturnVox. She is also one of the most talented tarot readers I’ve ever received a reading from, clearly guided by the hand of spirits to deliver messages in a timely and poetic way, not to mention under the mantle of great compassion and care. I’m making it a point to receive a year-ahead tarot reading from McCalla annually, for the foreseeable future.

  • Briar of the Greene Chapel - Briar’s work sits at the nexus of traditional witchcraft, Gallo-Irish polytheism, and the Fairy Faith and Irish Fairy Doctoring. They have been an incredible guide, friend, and peer to me on my own path, with their unwavering sense of ethics, duty to community, and approach to care that is rare within the occult community.

  • Lucien B. Hale, Wending Wayfarer - Lucien wears so many hats it’s hard to keep this succinct. They are a witch, cunning-crafter, spirit worker, diviner, and much more. Another rare gem in the broad occult landscape, Lucien is not only talented but also has an unwavering ethic of care to both clients and community, as well as a generous hand in educating and sharing their gnosis.
